Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to do to schedule an appointment or evaluation?

We are accepting new patients! To schedule an appointment, you can call our office at 479-252-3321 and speak with our Patient Care Coordinator. She will be able to answer any questions you have about getting an evaluation. You can also visit our Request an Appointment page to fill out a request form and someone will respond to you within 48 hours.

Do we need a referral from a doctor?

If your child has private insurance only (Blue Cross, UHC, Cigna, etc…), then we do not need a doctor’s referral to schedule. However, if your child has Medicaid or Tefra as primary or secondary insurance, then we will need a referral from their Primary Care Physician (PCP). Once we talk with you, we can request the referral from the PCP. Once received, we can schedule the evaluation as soon as possible.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Health Care, UMR, Optum, Medicaid (ArKids A/ArKids B), Arkansas Total Care PASSE, Empower PASSE, Summit PASSE and TEFRA. You can confirm that we are in-network by using your insurance company’s tool on their website or app that will allow you to search for in-network providers. Please also see our document provided to assist with this conversation: Guide to Calling your Insurance Company. If we are NOT in network with your insurance provider, we are happy to discuss cash pay options and payment plans. Please contact our billing specialist by emailing Leann@fusiontherapycenter.com or calling our front desk.

What services are covered?

Fusion provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to all ages. We have specialty areas within these disciplines that can be found under our Specialty Services page. Regarding insurance coverage for services, the plan or policy the patient has will determine the cost of therapy. We encourage you to reach out to your insurance company directly to better understand your benefits. We have a guide on our website - Guide to Calling your Insurance Company that can assist with this conversation.

What will my portion of the cost be?

Your portion will be determined by your respective insurance and their coverage of the service provided. If therapy becomes too expensive, Fusion Therapy Center can educate you on alternative funding sources (i.e., cash rate, Tefra, etc.) that can help pay for therapy. Please reach out so we can better answer any questions you may have.

What is a deductible, copay, and coinsurance?

Deductible: a specified amount of money that the family must pay before an insurance company will pay a claim. This resets each year based on the insurance plan.
Copay: a set amount to be paid by the family per date of service.
Coinsurance: a percentage to be paid by the family per date of service.

I had an evaluation somewhere else...can I come to FTC?

Absolutely! Most evaluations are good for up to one year. We will need to review the evaluation prior to scheduling your child’s first session. You can either email the existing evaluation to pcc@fusiontherapycenter.com, text pictures of each page to our clinic phone number, or you can bring a hard copy into the clinic and we will make a copy. Whichever is most convenient for you!

Do you accept school evaluations?

We always prefer to have copies of school evaluations if they are current, but in most cases we will need to do our own evaluation to stay within our billing requirements and scheduling parameters.

Is there a waitlist?

We do not have a waitlist for evaluations, and we rarely have a waitlist for treatment sessions! We can typically fit everyone in for their first session within 1-2 weeks. Our availability to get you scheduled ultimately depends on your flexibility. If your preferences are 4pm or 5pm times, it can be more challenging scheduling sessions immediately. This is when we would offer our “Flex Schedule option” if we do not have immediate openings.

What is the "Flex Schedule"?

At FTC, we have something called the “Flex Schedule”. This is our small list of patients who have limited availability and we call whenever we get cancellations within your availability window. You are also always more than welcome to give us a call each week to see if there are any openings that will work for your schedule for that week. Again, this is a small list of patients; most patients we are able to schedule immediately.

Do you have evening hours?

Yes! Depending on the day, some of our therapists are available until 6pm.

How often will I need to come to therapy if it is recommended?

Qualifying for therapy services is based on the results of the evaluation, which are indicated in the evaluation report your evaluating therapist will email to you within one week of the evaluation appointment. The evaluating therapist will also be discussing the details with you.

If therapy is recommended, 1-3 times per week for each therapy is typical, usually for 60 minutes each session. This may be shortened to 30 or 45 minutes for infants or myofunctional therapy. We make it convenient by scheduling for you a permanent time for the same day and time each week. When multiple disciplines (OT, PT and/or Speech) are recommended, we do our best to stack sessions back-to-back when possible.

If therapy is not recommended, the evaluating therapist will likely recommend a check-in after so many months. We will check in at that time to ensure there are still no concerns. We encourage patients and families to check back in sooner should concerns arise prior to the check-in.
